All payments are made offsite on the PayPal website and not on the Monsoon Books website. We do not see, have access to or store any payment details. We take no credit card details and can never see how you paid on the PayPal website. If the site is hacked then there are no credit card details to be lost. The information we do store is your registration details — name, address, email and registration password — so you should ALWAYS ensure your registration password is not the same password you use for your daily email or for your PayPal account. If you think you may have used the same password as your registration password, please go to your My Account page and click the link ‘edit your password and account details’. If you forget your password at any time, you can always email Monsoon and we will have the website send a new password to your email address, which you can then change.
Yes, of course! Please visit our Submissions page for more information.
Monsoon sends out a monthly newsletter by email with our latest news as well as information about some of our new releases. If you wish to stop receiving this email, please click ‘unsubscribe’ at the foot of the email. If you encounter any difficulties, please email us for assistance.
Paperback books are shipped from the UK and leave the warehouse within 3 days, usually within 24 hours. Overseas orders are sent by airmail (5 to 7 days depending on the location). Larger orders of multiple books may be despatched by UK or international courier. We do not send any orders by registered delivery; if you require us to do so, please email us.
The Monsoon Books paper procurement and usage policy supports the use of environmentally sustainable fibre use, reducing pollution and conserving natural resources through recycling and waste reduction. In order to produce materials responsibly we have adopted high standards for the procurement of paper. We actively work with our suppliers to maximize the efficient use of paper and reduce consumption.
We are continually reviewing and strengthening our book paper sourcing policy and reacting to input from all independent environmental organisations. We appreciate and respond to all advice and encouragement to continually move forward and strengthen our environmental policies.
We only use FSC® certified materials in the UK, where over 90% of our books are printed, and we use FSC® certified materials in Singapore where available for the remainder of our printing, which constitutes less than 10% of our printing.
Going forward, as availability improves in Singapore, our aim is to print 100% of our books on FSC certified materials.
We also work to minimise our environmental impact and are committed to reducing our overall use of fibre and raw materials consumed in the production of paper wherever possible.
Physical books bought on the Monsoon website are mailed out from a warehouse in the UK. We are therefore able to offer free postage on all orders shipping within the UK. Monsoon charges a subsidised flat-fee of £7 per book for all books mailed outside the UK.
Monsoon paperbacks are available from leading bookstores and online retailers in the UK, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada. Monsoon ebooks are available from all leading ebook retailers globally, including Amazon, Apple, Kobo, Google and Sony.
For UK customers, please consider buying our paperbacks from Bookstore.org or Hive, retail initiatives that support local indie bookstores.
